Chateau La Gatte as a winery appears on maps dated 1750. When renovating the house, we even found a tile ( in the back kitchen used in the past for the pickers ) dated from 1646
.
Almost 13 hectares in Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée Bordeaux Supérieur, planted with Merlot , Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec ; where we produce White, Rosé and Red wines
Our South-western exposure facing the river Dordogne and our sub soil of alluvions and clay-limestone allow us to produce seductive wines with a good aging potential
Behind the property, on a gentle sloppe facing west, the "Côteaux de Montalon", the wind mills and the 45th parallele. A unique site, with a fantastic view of the Dordogne river and the Estuary of the Gironde.
